Neville Returns To Action At WWE Smackdown Tapings
"The Man That Gravity Forgot" is back in the ring.
Tuesday evening's Smackdown tapings saw the long-awaited return of former WWE NXT Champion Neville, who had been on the shelf with a broken ankle since March. In a dark match, "The Man That Gravity Forgot" beat his former developmental territory rival, Bo Dallas.
The high-flyer suffered the broken ankle on March 14's episode of Raw while attempting a baseball slide during a match with Chris Jericho. The injury forced a halt to the action and led to an argument between Jericho and referee Charles Robinson, who didn't know Neville was hurt and continued to wait for the planned finish.
Neville was forced to miss WrestleMania 32, where he was scheduled to participate in the Intercontinental Title ladder match. His spot went to the bout's eventual winner, Zack Ryder.
The popular and talented Neville won the NXT Championship from Dallas at NXT Arrival, the WWE Network's first live special. He held the title for nearly 10 months, eventually losing it to Sami Zayn. The heralded star debuted on Raw the evening after WrestleMania 31, but has had trouble finding success on the main roster. Many have called for WWE to use him better upon his return.
Neville is currently scheduled to take on Chris Jericho at a Madison Square Garden house show on Saturday.
