New Details On Bobby Fish's IMPACT Wrestling Status
The self-proclaimed ex-AEW "lightning rod" showed up in IMPACT Wrestling last week.
Bobby Fish is not currently contracted to IMPACT Wrestling despite debuting for the promotion at last week's Victory Road event.
PWInsider's Mike Johnson reports as much, noting that while present at Victory Road 2022 on 23 September, Fish taped backstage content that will air on future IMPACT television shows. Bobby did not, however, wrestle at the tapings.
Fish is currently due to appear at IMPACT's Bound For Glory 2022 pay-per-view on 7 October and the following day's television tapings, both of which take place in his Albany, New York hometown. Whether or not he will extend his IMPACT stay beyond these dates remains to be seen.
Victory Road saw Fish make a surprise appearance, cutting an in-ring promo that featured him branding himself "a lightning rod for controversy", referencing his recent one-sided social media feud with CM Punk. Later, he stated that IMPACT couldn't fire him as he technically doesn't work there.
Fish has been a free agent since his All Elite Wrestling contract expired on 31 August. Although the two parties had a mutual interest in an extension, they were unable to come to terms on one for financial reasons.
