New Details On Lucha Underground's Potential Return
Here's what's going on with Lucha Libre FMV's attempted Lucha Underground revival.
Lucha Libre FMV has applied for trademarks to Lucha Underground, its old wrestling promotion, seemingly with the hope of reviving the brand for a downloadable television series and a non-downloadable one as well.

Dave Meltzer writes in this week's Wrestling Observer Newsletter that the group wants to bring back as many of LU's original personal as possible, on camera and off. This, coupled with securing a television deal, would likely be Lucha Libre FMV's biggest barrier to bringing the cult promotion back.
Lucha Underground last aired in 2018. The vast majority of the wrestlers used in its final series have now signed elsewhere, with the likes of Pentagon, Jake Strong (Hager), and Fenix in AEW, King Cuerno (Santos Escobar), Johnny Mundo (Morrison), and Killshot (Isaiah 'Swerve' Scott) in WWE, and Matanza Cueto (Jeff Cobb) in New Japan.
Announcer Vampiro had previously told Chris Van Vliet that a revival would be very difficult, given how widely the crew has been scattered.
The likes of Mil Muertes showing up in MLW this year has led to the Azteca Underground storyline, which is believed to be a Lucha Underground spinoff.
