As reported earlier this week, WWE NXT's Tegan Nox has undergone surgery to repair her third torn ACL in four years. Triple H confirmed as much during his pre-TakeOver 31 media call, legitimising claims initially made in WWE's weekly NXT injury update video, which is often worked.

Dave Meltzer has now provided an update on Nox's situation during a recent episode of Wrestling Observer Radio.

The injury apparently occurred while Nox was rehabbing, not wrestling. "The ACL just popped," Meltzer said. "It happened in rehab." The medical team didn't think anything serious was afoot until Tegan went for her MRI, which revealed the tear.

Per the report, it's possible that Nox's latest injury may have been a product of one of her previous ACL tears not healing properly, though this hasn't been confirmed. It is believed that Nox will be out of action for a minimum of 6-9 months but possibly longer.

Tegan's first ACL tear happened prior to the 2017 Mae Young Classic, which she was pegged to win. She returned the following April but suffered another tear (as well as other injuries) while wrestling Rhea Ripley in the 2018 MYC.

All the best to Nox in her recovery.
