911 dispatch call provides new details on PAC's tragic passing.
With the wrestling world reeling from the passing of Benjamin 'PAC' Satterley on Sunday at the age of just 40, there are now some new details on this tragic situation.
This horrific news broke late on Sunday night, with AEW announcing that PAC had sadly passed away. As one would imagine, that announcement was met with a whole host of tributes to one of the most innovative, influential wrestlers of the modern era, and somebody who, from those who knew him, was a truly exceptional human being.
The California Post has now obtained a 911 dispatch call that confirms PAC was found unresponsive in a rental vehicle outside of a CAVA restaurant in Des Plaines, Illinois on Sunday. The restaurant is near Chicago O'Hare International Airport, with PAC having competed at AEW All Out the previous day at the Now Arena in Hoffman Estates. That dispatch call said that PAC had been seen slumped over in the car by several CAVA customers, which led to 911 being called. Witnesses told The California Post that customers tried to find medical equipment in CAVA, with emergency personnel arriving on the scene at 4pm local time. The Cook County Medical Examiner's Office said PAC was pronounced dead at 4:08pm, and a representative for the Des Plaines Police Department added that there are "no indications of foul play and the circumstances surrounding the death are not considered suspicious". Following an initial autopsy, "additional testing" will take place to determine a cause of death.
As tributes continue to pour in for a genuine game-changer, AEW President Tony Khan announced at last night's Ring of Honor TV tapings that this week's Dynamite will be a special tribute show dedicated to PAC.
