Both wrestlers are currently working under deals that expire later this month, with Gargano recently signing a week-long deal to enable him to continue through this weekend’s WarGames show. Per Fightful Select, WWE is eager to retain both NXT standouts, with talks ongoing.

Gargano has been praised recently for his work with Austin Theory, Indi Hartwell, and wife Candice LeRae as part of The Way, as well as for helping new wrestlers progress despite potentially being on his way out of the company. There is currently no word on whether or not he is leaning towards staying or going.

O’Reilly, meanwhile, was reportedly surprised that his deal was coming up so soon, as WWE contracts are often extended when wrestlers are sidelined. This wasn’t the case with him, however, and WWE knew his deal was expiring after going through its NXT deals when Adam Cole and Pete Dunne’s contracts were expiring. As with Gargano, WWE has approached KOR over re-signing.

Both men will compete at WarGames this weekend. Gargano is in the titular bout, teaming with LA Knight, Tommaso Ciampa, and Pete Dunne to face Bron Breakker, Tony D’Angelo, Grayson Waller, and Carmelo Hayes. O’Reilly and Von Wagner challenge for Imperium’s NXT Tag Team Championships.
