Sheamus will defend his WWE United States Championship against Damian Priest at SummerSlam 2021 (21 August).

This was confirmed during last night's episode of Raw, on which Sheamus and Priest both won. The US Champion defeated Ricochet before Priest emerged for a victory over regular rival John Morison, whom he faced in two connected matches last week. Damian then grabbed a microphone, called Sheamus out, and had his challenge accepted.

Sheamus' third United States Title run commenced at WrestleMania 37, where he unseated Riddle. This latest reign has seen only one successful defence (vs. Humberto Carrillo, 6 July) in 121 days.

Priest has had this title shot loaded up for several weeks, having defeated Sheamus in a contendership bout on Raw's 26 July episode.

No further matches were made for the pay-per-view last night.
