News On Big TNA Talent Meeting Over The Weekend
Following calls to reinstate Scott D'Amore, TNA talent met with Anthem officials over the weekend.
With TNA Wrestling somewhat reeling still in the aftermath of Scott D'Amore's firing, the company's talent roster was involved in a meeting with the promotion's new bosses over the weekend.
For those who missed it, D'Amore was fired by TNA's parent company Anthem last month, with Anthem looking to become more involved in the day-to-day running of TNA and put it more in-line with the synergy of the wider Anthem brand. As such, D'Amore was replaced as TNA President by Anthem's President of Entertainment Anthony Cicone. In the time since this news broke, TNA talent and staff penned a letter of protest to Anthem, calling for D'Amore's reinstatement.
Per Fightful Select, this latest meeting had been planned "well ahead of time" and included some of the Anthem bosses who talent will now be answering to. It's also noted how certain talent had spoken to higher-ups individually, too.
This report states that, whilst there's clearly plenty of disappointment about D'Amore's departure, nobody wants the roster to give up on the hard work they've done to previously put TNA in such a good place, even if talent don't agree with the exit of D'Amore. One big-name wrestler was originally looking to leave TNA in the midst of this recent news, but they've now decided to "ride it out" after the weekend's TV tapings and the aforementioned meeting.
While the Anthem meeting which announced Scott D'Amore's firing did not provide TNA talent and staff the opportunity to respond to this news or ask questions, Anthem higher-ups are now open to feedback. Despite several wrestlers still not agreeing with the decision to remove D'amore, this recent meeting is said to have done a good job in getting the roster excited for what may lay ahead for TNA Wrestling.
As for Scott D'Amore, he is still not expected to rejoin TNA, although many on the roster are obviously hopeful that this may change at some point.
