Things were at one point meant to be a little different in the women's Chamber bout.

Yesterday saw Bianca Belair emerge victorious in the titular women's match at WWE Elimination Chamber, setting the E.S.T. up for a shot at Becky Lynch's Raw Women's Title at WrestleMania 38.

While Belair winning the match was always the plan, there was originally meant to be a slightly different ending to this Chamber contest.

As per PWInsider, there was at one point talks of having the finish to this bout be almost a double pin situation with Bianca and Alexa Bliss. There, with both women's shoulders on the mat, Belair would've got a shoulder up at the last possible second to get the win in a way that would have protected Bliss in her first match back in action for five months.

Instead, the decision was ultimately made for Little Miss Bliss to take a clean loss at the hands of Belair and her patented KOD finishing move. This was done in order to help Bianca look stronger as she gets set to tangle with Lynch at this year's Showcase of the Immortals, with that seemingly more of a priority than protecting Alexa right now.

While Bianca Belair's WrestleMania 38 plans are set in stone, it remains to be seen what role Alexa Bliss will have at the Granddaddy of Them All. Elimination Chamber was Bliss' first match since losing to Charlotte Flair at last September's Extreme Rules PPV, and Alexa's recent return to WWE programming has been focussed on therapy sessions rather than establishing any rivalry or feud at this stage.
