Nexus Almost Returned To WWE At WrestleMania 36?
This is not a drill...
Former WWE star Darren Young claimed during an interview with The VP Show that the Nexus stable were pencilled in to return at WrestleMania 36.
According to Young, plans only changed when the ongoing global health crisis forced WWE to move the show from Tampa, Florida to their own Performance Center in Orlando. It seems the lack of a live crowd forced the company to go frosty on a bold return for the 2010 group.
Young didn't go into serious details about exactly who was poised to return, but it's difficult to imagine that either Wade Barrett (Stu Bennett) or Skip Sheffield (Ryback) would've been part of the comeback. Neither man has expressed any desire to make a return to WWE any time soon.
Also, Heath Slater just got released. Do Young's claims hint that things might've been different for Heath had WWE been able to run 'Mania 36 in Tampa?
It's all very intriguing, and it does tie in with previous word from @WrestleVotes on Twitter that WWE planned to run a major angle "similar to the Nexus invasion" during the spring and summer months.
