With WWE bringing back a whole slew of female former talent for this past weekend's Royal Rumble premium live event, one other ex-independent contractor who had the option to return to a WWE ring was Nia Jax.

Speaking on Renee Paquette's Oral Sessions podcast, the one-time Raw Women's Champion explained how she received a phone call from WWE to see if she wanted to be a part of the women's Rumble. As for Jax's response? Why, that involved "oh, f**k no" and "absolutely f**king not".

When asked by Paquette if she received an offer for a Rumble return, Nia responded (via Fightful):

"I did. I was in the middle of trying to get my stuff back. I had a bunch of crap. You know how it is, you're just shoving stuff in everybody's boxes. I'm in the middle of getting my stuff back, they sent me a box and more than half was missing. I'm like, 'Yo, what is going on?' When I got the call I thought it was about, 'Where is my stuff?' It's my homie in [Talent Relations]. 'Hey, we're just calling to see if you'd be interested in participating in the Royal Rumble'. I started hysterically laughing. I thought it was my friend joking with me. 'Oh, you're hilarious'. 'Actually, this is an official call'. 'Oh, f**k no, I'm not coming back'. 'We'd like to offer you this'. I said, 'First of all, I'm still under my 90 days. You're still going to be paying me anyway, so you're not offering me anything. No, I'm not coming back. Absolutely f**king not. Is this all it was?' 'Yes'. 'Okay, bye.'"

Jax would go onto tell Renee how this felt like a slap in the face to her. As she detailed, she was essentially being put on a list that would be presented to Vince McMahon for VKM to decide which available women he deemed worthy of a spot in the 30-person Royal Rumble match.

Going further, Nia labelled this whole process as "such bulls**t" and threw in a hearty "f**k you" in the direction of WWE.

Having been with McMahon's sports entertainment juggernaut since early 2014, the two-time WWE Women's Tag Team Champion was released by the company on 4 November 2021. As it happens, that means her 90-day non-compete clause will expire tomorrow.

In recent weeks, Nia has talked about how a return to any wrestling ring is not on the cards in her future, with Jax more interested in moving on from the pro wrestling business to explore ventures new.
