NJPW Champions Announced For IMPACT Debut
Two debuts confirmed for IMPACT Wrestling's upcoming television tapings.
Aussie Open are on their way to IMPACT Wrestling, the promotion has confirmed.
In preparation for their impending Lone Star Stampede television tapings, the Anthem-helmed organisation announced a series of matches for the two-day card. Night one - Friday, 26 August - will see Mark Davis and Kyle Fletcher make their IMPACT Wrestling debut, colliding with the Motor City Machine Guns.
The match will mark the first time in IMPACT for Aussie Open. Members of Will Ospreay's United Empire faction in New Japan Pro-Wrestling, Davis and Fletcher have slowly been leaving their mark across the independent scene, most recently being crowned NJPW's inaugural STRONG Openweight Tag Team Champions. They bested Christopher Daniels and Yuya Uemura in the tournament finals.
Prior to their success in NJPW, Aussie Open were a top pairing in the British wrestling scene, being former Tag Team Champions in PROGRESS, RevPro, and OTT. In doing so, they became two of the top international stars on the scene, renowned for their innovative offence and in-your-face charisma.
It's unknown as of yet if Aussie Open will wrestle further shows for IMPACT Wrestling, nor if this is the beginning of subsequent United Empire members appearing in the company through their working agreement with NJPW.
