NJPW In Talks With Several Outlets Over US TV Deal
New Japan Pro Wrestling has reportedly held talks with several networks over a US show!
As New Japan Pro Wrestling continues to expand its global reach, the promotion is said to be in talks with several major US TV outlets.
Courtesy of Mike Johnson over at the PWInsider, New Japan has carried out talks with different networks for a US-driven TV show.
These discussions have largely been with players new to the table, although one particular outlet has had interest as far back as last year.
The belief is that there’s been a significant increase in interest in NJPW since KENTA turned up on AEW Dynamite and as part of the fallout of New Japan programming landing on Roku. Similarly, the deal to make WWE Network exclusive to the Peacock streaming service has also brought far more network eyes to the wrestling world – with NBCUniversal rivals keen to explore what avenues are available to rival Peacock having the WWE Network.
It's also worth noting that this similarly comes hot on the heels of the news that Court Bauer's MLW is currently in the midst of negotiations on a TV deal that will purportedly take Major League Wrestling to a new level of visibility.
