NJPW Star Set For All-In
'Golden Star' to appear alongside Kenny Omega.
The Twitter account for the Bullet Club's All In event yesterday announced that Kota Ibushi is set for the event at Hoffman Estate's Sears Center on 1 September.
'The Golden Star' was in the corner of his Golden Lover buddy Kenny Omega last Saturday, as 'The Cleaner' finally bested Kazuchika Okada for the IWGP Heavyweight Title at NJPW Dominion. As a member of Omega's 'Golden Elite' stable alongside All In co-promoter's The Young Bucks, an appearance from Ibushi at the event seemed an inevitability.
Former three-time IWGP Junior Heavyweight champ Ibushi shared a Dave Meltzer five-star rated match alongisde Omega opposite the Jackson brothers back at Long Beach, CA's NJPW Strong Style Evolved event in March. Fans in Chicago will be hoping for similar magic from the Golden Lovers when they re-combine stateside this autumn.
Ibushi is best known for his often spectacular matches in New Japan, including a five-star classic with Shinsuke Nakamura at Wrestle Kingdom 9, and often off-beat contests in DDT, where he once famously wrestled a blow-up doll to a blinder. WWE fans will be familiar with his work from 2016's Cruiserweight Classic, during which he eliminated Cedric Alexander and Brian Kendrick before being dumped by eventual winner TJ Perkins.
Other names scheduled for All-In included organiser Cody, Marty Scurll, Kazuchika Okada, Jay Lethal, and Tessa Blanchard.
