NJPW World Subscriptions Up Thanks To Jon Moxley & Will Ospreay
New Japan's western stars are shining at the moment.
Will Ospreay and Jon Moxley are both flying in New Japan Pro Wrestling at the moment, and their ongoing success seems to be having a considerable impact on the promotion's western business.
Per Cageside Seats, NJPW World subscriptions have both increased in the United Kingdom and the United States of America recently, and this is being credited, largely, to Moxley and Ospreay.
Ospreay is currently in the midst of a career-best year. The consensus best in-ring performer in the world seemingly delivers an acclaimed match at every time of asking and became a two-time Best of the Super Juniors winner earlier this year, before capturing his third IWGP Junior Heavyweight Championship.
Moxley, meanwhile, is on fire after leaving WWE, having shaken off the old Sports Entertainment stench in an electric debut match versus Juice Robinson, then setting the ongoing G1 Climax tournament ablaze.
Both men have at least one G1 bout left in him. Ospreay's 3-5 record means he is out of the A Block running, but Moxley currently sits on 5-3 atop B Block - a record he shares with Tetsuya Naito, Hirooki Goto, and Jay White. His fate will be decided when he rematches with Robinson this weekend.
