As with last year, the pre-show will feature the New Japan Rumble. This is the obligatory 'get everyone on the card' match, and as such is a little bit pointless to preview. So far eight men have been named for the match itself, down on the 15 from last year, so I would expect some extra surprises on the night. Some names will be familiar with western wrestling fans, none more so than Jushin Thunder Liger who graced the WWE Universe this year at NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn. Liger is a legend to say the least, but I would be surprised if he came out on top in the rumble. Last year's winner was Yuji Nagata, and a repeat victory for the veteran is equally unlikely. Who else do we have? NJPW co-booker Jado is involved, along with former IWGP Junior Heavyweight Champion Ryusuke Taguchi, the legendary Hiroyoshi Tenzan, Manabu Nakanishi and others. For a winner, I'm putting my pound on Satoshi Kojima, the man who never ages. Hopefully this leads to him getting a token IC title shot in the spring.
