For those wondering if AEW's Adam Copeland will be a part of John Cena's retirement in some form or fashion, the former Edge will not be returning to WWE for one last dance with one of his greatest rivals.

This topic came up during the latest Fightful Select Answers Q&A, where Sean Ross Sapp was asked if he knew of any conversations with AEW over bringing the Rated R Superstar back to WWE for one more match with Cena. SRS reiterated that, not just have there been no conversations about this, but there haven't even been any conversations about conversations of an Edge return.

Sapp added that this matter hasn't been broached apart from in an "is he under contract?" capacity, and that Cope appearing in WWE is "not a possibility." It was also mentioned how AEW President Tony Khan wouldn't allow something like that to happen, highlighting how WWE has tried to undermine AEW at points, not to mention how WWE wouldn't allow Lex Luger to be seen on camera as part of Sting's retirement match.

As for Adam Copeland, he's been absent from AEW since the post-All Out Dynamite, where he told Christian Cage that he needed to step away to find himself in the aftermath of FTR hitting Beth Phoenix/Copeland with a spike piledriver at that PPV. In reality, Copeland was initially filming Percy Jackson and the Olympians, and has more recently been spotted in London, England for a role in the Jason Statham-fronted The Beekeeper 2.

Where John Cena is concerned, he's got three dates left with WWE before he calls time on his legendary career. Big Match John is scheduled for next week's Raw from Madison Square Garden, then will be at Survivor Series later this month, before wrestling his retirement match at the 13 December episode of Saturday Night's Main Event. As for that retirement match, we've now got The Last Time Is Now Tournament ongoing to decide Cena's opponent, with that tournament featuring talents from Raw, SmackDown, and NXT, and teasing wrestlers from outside of WWE - hence why some are hopeful of Copeland being involved.
