It remains to be seen if this will be a main roster one-off for a WWE NXT fave.

WWE NXT star Axiom surprisingly made his main roster debut on this week's episode of SmackDown, and it was a promising one for the masked high-flyer.

Axiom wrestled fellow NXT alumni Dragon Lee in a showcase battle that went approx 10 minutes. Lee, who has started to get pushed on the blue brand as of late, picked up the win. However, Axiom can be proud of how much poise he showed on a bigger stage - his performance might've turned some heads behind the curtain, put it that way.

It remains to be seen whether or not this is a one-and-done showing for Axiom or the start of something bigger. There was an old-school Cruiserweight flavour to the bout, which is meant as a compliment. The live crowd were fairly frosty to both workers at the start of the match, but warmed to them the longer it went.

Again, very promising.

Dragon has now bagged three televised victories in a row following his baffling tag-team loss alongside Cameron Grimes vs. Austin Theory and Grayson Waller in late-October. Hopefully, this isn't the last time Axiom and Lee lock horns on TV.
