NXT UK Draws TERRIBLE Crowd (Photos)
Show in Coventry drew fewer than 1000 fans.
Reports from those at NXT UK's show in Coventry, England last night suggest that the taping was attended by fewer than a thousand people.
Current estimates for the event, taking place in the city's Coventry Skydome Arena, put the attendance figure in the region of 750 to 850 fans.
Several people who were at the venue posted pictures to social media of the sparse crowd, corroborating the above numbers. If accurate, this would be the lowest drawing NXT crowd in the brand's history.
The low turnout is especially galling given the card played host to Finn Bálor's NXT UK debut. He defeated Imperium's Alexander Wolfe in the night's main event, before cutting a promo asking who, having bested Matt Riddle and Johnny Gargano, his next high profile opponent would be. Tyler Bate answered the challenge, standing tall after a brief brawl.
The show also featured appearances from Kassius Ohno, NXT UK Women's Champion Kay Lee Ray, and Ilja Dragunov.
A second night of filming is set to take place tonight. This is the final set of tapings ahead of NXT UK TakeOver: Dublin, scheduled for 26 April.
