It seems like the best place to start our gargantuan quest is, well, at the start.

22 November 1990.

Two teams squared off at the annual Survivor Series; one captained by Dusty Rhodes and the other by Ted DiBiase.

The Million Dollar Man was one man short heading into the show, but promised that a "Mystery Partner" would fill that spot on the night.

When the time came to reveal his final teammate, DiBiase took to the microphone and made the now legendary debut introduction for... The Undertaker.

As soon as those words had left DiBiase's diamond-plated lips, Mark Calaway's imposing figure emerged from behind the curtain dressed all in black and with Bruce "Brother Love" Prichard by his side.

The Phenom had arrived.

Despite scoring two eliminations, 'Taker's first match ended rather flatly when he failed to beat the ten count and was counted out after less than ten minutes.

On paper, this was hardly an earth-shattering first appearance, but with the context of what was to follow, this has to go down as one of the most important WWE debuts of all time.
