Orange Cassidy Knocked Out On AEW Dynamite, Match Finish Changed
Here's what happened to Orange Cassidy, who wrestled PAC on AEW Dynamite last night.
Orange Cassidy was seemingly knocked out on last night's AEW Dynamite, forcing the promotion to change the finish of his number one contender's match with PAC.
It was clear early on that Cassidy was having difficultly, as PAC had complete control in an uncharacteristically one-paced match with minimal comebacks. PWInsider's Mike Johnson reports that Cassidy was potentially hurt while taking a sunset flip powerbomb. Though he worked to finish the match, AEW ended up calling an audible.
Don Callis and Kenny Omega hit the ring. Callis provided the distraction for Omega to blast PAC with the AEW World Title and with neither man able to answer a standing ten-count, the match was ruled a draw.
This was done to preserve Cassidy's spot at Double Or Nothing 2021. AEW's original plan was for the match to finish as a 20-minute time-limit draw, resulting in Omega defending against PAC and Cassidy in a pay-per-view three-way. The promotion ended up reaching that same destination by taking a different route, as the bout was announced afterwards.
As far as Orange's condition goes, Fightful Select reports that Cassidy is "okay." The outlet is working for further updates.
