9. Tom Hardy As Bruno Sammartino
Given that the film is probably going to need to focus on the "old school" of wrestling and McMahon Sr's way of running the business, it's going to need not only a veteran star but also someone publicly critical of McMahon Jr's way of business. What better a way of capturing that than with Bruno Sammartino, whose interactions with Vince's father would be the best way to sell that historical comparison point?
It probably wouldn't need to be a huge role, but if Sony can tempt Tom Hardy - who looked like a young, bald Sammartino in Bronson and has shown himself capable of his power and physical presence - they'd have the perfect answer.
Watching him sparring with McMahon Sr as his son looks on and decides to do business differently would be a great way to prologue the film's main action.
