WWE just let Pat McAfee bash WrestleMania 42's second night on SmackDown.

Pat McAfee went scorched earth on WrestleMania 42 Sunday during another incendiary promo on this week's episode of SmackDown. Last week, the outspoken announcer shocked everyone (and irked both fans and critics alike) by aligning with Randy Orton, kicking Cody Rhodes in the balls, and shooting on everything in sight.

On Friday, Pat went in hard on CM Punk's viability as a 'Mania headliner, then outright encouraged fans not to bother checking out the second night of the upcoming PLE on 19 April. That was unexpected. Specifically, McAfee fired back at Punk calling him "Pat MAGAfee" by pointing out the hypocrisy in Punk's comments about Saudi Arabia before eventually accepting a bumper payday to wrestle there.

On that, McAfee said Punk's a fraud who has a "I’m sorry Saudi Arabia" account with the bank.

Then, Randy's new mouthpiece (a strange sentence to type in 2026!) revealed a 25% discount for WrestleMania Saturday tickets, but teased that the deal wouldn't be available for the following night because few should want to see 'a bag of bones' like Punk headlining things anyway.

This continues to be a rather interesting strategy from WWE and TKO. They've just outright dissed the second night of 'Mania less than 2 weeks out from the big dance, and they let McAfee ridicule one half of the Sunday main event. Further, having anyone (heel or not) encourage the fanbase to give an entire PLE night a miss is...bold.

Like it or not, the company appears to be all in on this approach.
