At Wednesday evening's TV tapings, former NXT superstar Percy Watson returned to the brand as a commentator. He called the action alongside Tom Phillips and Corey Graves, and will continue to do so moving forward.

Watson, a former NFL player, joined WWE in 2009 and participated in season two of NXT the following year. He was mentored by MVP and later became the first rookie to defeat a pro in a singles match with a victory over Zack Ryder, but he was ultimately eliminated, coming in fifth.

Following his elimination, Watson worked matches on Superstars, then returned to NXT for the show's fifth season. On that round of competition - subtitled "Redemption" - Watson was the regular tag team partner of contestant Titus O'Neal. The two men eventually split, with Watson later teaming up with Alex Riley on the show.

When the NXT reality show concept was dropped and the name was applied to WWE's developmental territory, Watson made the jump but was largely unsuccessful. He formed a tag team with Yoshi Tatsu, but the pair were eliminated from the first round of the NXT Tag Team Championship tournament by Luke Harper and Erick Rowan. Soon afterwards, he was released from the company.
