WWE will crown their inaugural Women's Tag Team Champions at this weekend's Elimination Chamber pay-per-view, with Nia Jax and Tamina, The Riott Squad, Mandy Rose and Sonya Deville, Naomi and Carmella, Bayley and Sasha Banks, and The IIconics set to contest the shiny new belts inside the titular structure.

These championships had been rumoured long before the McMahons officially announced them towards the end of 2018, with the women's division's perceived lack of depth a common talking point. Fortunately, it looks like WWE have a plan to alleviate such concerns:-

This is no great surprise. Raw and SmackDown barely have the numbers required to sustain one women's division at the moment, let alone two. Having the champions bounce between brands should prevent burnout and keep things fresh, though WWE may still want to think about calling new pairings up from NXT, as the thrown-together Carmella/Naomi tandem shows they're still struggling for duos.

In related news, it looks like Sasha Banks has finally been cleared to compete at Elimination Chamber. WWE have been leaning into her injury heavily lately, but it looks like she'll be good to go by Sunday, when her and Bayley will start the Chamber against Sonya Deville and Mandy Rose.
