Possible Reason Why Bray Wyatt Has Never Appeared In AEW
One does not simply just open the chequebook and sign the flippin' Fiend.
A handful of convention and meet and greet appearances aside, the wrestler formerly known as Bray Wyatt is yet to fully re-emerge in professional wrestling, despite his in-ring absence now stretching for over a year.
Windham Rotunda's last bout was a quick defeat to Randy Orton on WrestleMania 37's second night last April. Three months later, the former WWE and Universal Champion was released by the promotion, his 12-year run with the market leaders formally coming to an end on 31 July 2021.
Understandably, given its status as the world's second-biggest promotion behind WWE, AEW has been linked with signing Rotunda a number of times. There are likely a number of barriers to this ever happening, with money seemingly one of them.
When a Twitter user asked if AEW would be interested in Rotunda, given his status as a former top act in WWE, the Wrestling Observer's Dave Meltzer shed light on the former Fiend's demands;-

Rather than continuing his wrestling career, Windham's most notable post-WWE project has been an unnamed horror project produced alongside regular collaborator Jason Baker of Callosum Studios. Notably, Rotunda was present at WrestleCon over WrestleMania 38 weekend earlier this month.
