Possible Reason Why Triple H Turned On Seth Rollins Last Night

The number "33" could be of some significance.

As we saw on Monday Night Raw, Triple H made his first televised main roster appearance since WrestleMania 32. He swerved the audience by attacking his former friend Seth Rollins, and helped Kevin Owens win the Universal Title. It seems we now know why the company went in this direction.

Dave Meltzer with Wrestling Observer Radio noted that Rollins vs. Hunter was planned for this year's WrestleMania, before Rollins went down with an injury. We may now get that match next year.

That makes sense for why Rollins was gifted The Pedigree after his Curb Stomp finisher was stomped out. Their relationship also seemed destined to explode over at some point, but the company had to pull an audible earlier this year and once again go with Roman Reigns in the main event.

After The Architect's lengthy hiatus, it seemed that he may have returned as a babyface, but that wasn't the direction they chose to go. With this new turn of events, it looks like they're finally pulling the trigger on that idea.

We'll see if the company can deliver a satisfactory story to keep the two apart until April.
