Potential Spoilers On WWE Royal Rumble 2024 Surprises
The latest rumblings on potential WWE Royal Rumble surprises.
With WWE Royal Rumble on the horizon, it's that time of year where wrestling fans speculate as to what surprises this January staple may bring with it. And on that front, there's now an update on certain names expected to be a part of this year's Rumble PLE.
Via PWInsider.com, Trinity/Naomi, Liv Morgan, and Sean Waltman are currently believed to make appearances at the Royal Rumble later this month.
For the former Naomi, she's been absolutely killing it in IMPACT Wrestling under her real name of Trinity across the past year since departing WWE. Nowadays the IMPACT Knockouts Champion, Trinity will defend that title against Jordynne Grace at Hard to Kill this coming weekend, with that PPV formally ushering in the rebranding of IMPACT back to the TNA Wrestling name. A two-time SmackDown Women's Champion, recent rumours suggest Trinity will be finishing up with IMPACT/TNA imminently ahead of returning to WWE.
In the instance of Liv Morgan, she's been out of action since last summer due to shoulder issues. Reports accompanying news of Morgan's arrest last month claimed WWE have significant plans for the New Jersey native in the lead to WrestleMania XL. That arrest was on drug possession charges, but there is said to be no heat on Morgan, who is viewed as a hard worker and is well liked amongst those in WWE.
As for Sean Waltman, he was spotted at the WWE Performance Center last week and is expected to be in the Florida area over Royal Rumble Weekend. A two-time WWE Hall of Famer, Waltman is a genuine trailblazer, bringing a high-flying style rarely seen in mainstream North American wrestling when he landed in the then-WWF in 1993. Initially known as the Lightning Kid, then Cannonball Kid, he eventually took on the 1-2-3 Kid moniker after shocking the world and defeating Razor Ramon on a May '93 episode of WWF Raw.
While Waltman's most recent match came in March 2022 against Joey Janela for GCW, it's somehow over 21 years since he last competed for WWE; that being a ten-man tag match on a July 2002 Raw outing. Of course, away from his 1-2-3 Kid mantle, the Minnesota grappler found notable success as Syxx in WCW and later as X-Pac back in WWE.
Emanating from St. Petersburg, Florida's Tropicana Field, this year's Royal Rumble takes place on Saturday 27 January.
