Predicting The First 10 AEW World Champions

10. Chris Jericho

Hangman Page must be rebuilt.

Although the former Ring of Honor man looked a smart choice to become AEW's first World Champion after winning Double Or Nothing's Casino Battle Royale, that changed at Fight for the Fallen. While well-constructed and performed competently, Page's 50/50 momentum seesaw with Kip Sabian didn't just fail to heat him up for Chris Jericho - it cooled him down. That Sabian was too competitive is an objective truth. The match's point was to get Page over, yet fans were chanting "thank you Jericho" by the time 'Y2J' had laid Hangman out after the bell. It didn't work.

Being the Elite's follow-up episode saw Page rip the stitches from his brow during a furious promo on Jericho. A moment of sheer badassery, though Hangman will need many to make him a viable first World Champion, and whether or not this can be accomplished without proper TV remains to be seen.

Thus, we're left with Jericho. That he's the biggest mainstream name on AEW's books and still a good performer makes him a solid first choice in his own right. Regardless, a hotter Page would add a lot to this match.
