Tetsuya Naito was stuck in something of a slump until reminding everybody of his incredible aura in this year's G1 Climax. Pushing B Block winner Kota Ibushi into requiring a final night victory over Kenny Omega, Naito's matches throughout were among the very best in the tournament.

It did much to undo his difficult year after high profile losses to Kazuchika Okada, Zack Sabre Jr and Chris Jericho.
