It was confirmed yesterday by TNA President Dixie Carter that Quinton Rampage Jackson has joined TNA Wrestling. The former UFC Light Heavyweight Champion has signed a multi-year deal that also confirms a partnership with Spike TV and Bellator MMA. Jackson joins fellow Bellator fighter King Mo as the latest addition to TNAs roster. Speaking about the acquisition, Spike TVs Kevin Kay said Rampage is a proven ratings driver who brings incredible star power to both Bellator and TNA. On May 30th, Dixie Carter sent out a tweet stating that the ink is drying on a BIG free agent that will rock #ImpactLIVE on @SpikeTV. After rumours circulating on the internet that the free agent could be Dave Batista, John Morrison or even Bill Goldberg, we can now assume that the free agent that she spoke of was not from the pro-wrestling industry and was indeed Rampage Jackson, a former guest host of WWE Raw. Shortly after the news broke of Rampages deal with TNA, WWE Hall of Famer Jim Ross gave his two cents to a fan online. He said Hope it works for all involved but training a 35 year old to be a pro wrestler isnt easy and takes a full-time effort. As one of the most recognisable names in mixed martial arts and one of the stars from 2010s The A Team, Rampage will no doubt attract some attention to TNA Wrestling in the very near future. However, its hard to argue with J.R. and at this point its difficult to gauge what kind of impact this move to TNA will have on his career. Rampage will make his TNA debut on Impact Wrestling this Thursday on Spike TV.
