2. Brad Peyton's Rock Solid Direction
This is director Brad Peyton's third collaboration with The Rock, and it further confirms the potency of their working relationship when it comes to crafting dumb yet deliriously entertaining tentpole films.
Peyton may not be the go-to-filmmaker for cerebral, intense movies, but visually adept blockbuster mayhem? Absolutely.
San Andreas proved, in spite of its many issues, how well he can handle large-scale destruction, and Rampage only cements that. As such, it's little surprise that Peyton and Johnson are already both signed on for San Andreas 2.
To that end, if Rampage is even modestly successful at the box office, you can count on a sequel reuniting the two once again. So far, it's proven a fantastic fit for financial success and not-bad entertainment.
