A planned match between Randy Orton and Braun Strowman didn't go ahead on last night's WWE Raw.

WWE scrapped the bout from the broadcast on show day. Fightful Select are reporting that Vince McMahon made several big creative changes after arriving at the building later than usual yesterday, though this match may not have been part of it.

Orton vs. Strowman was announced on WWE.com several days ago. It would have been a genuine first-time match, as the duo have never gone one on one in WWE despite their respective tenures, but anyone looking forward to it will now have to wait to see them throw down.

There's currently no word on why, exactly, Strowman vs. Orton was pulled.

Orton ended up wrestling Riddle on the show instead, asking Adam Pearce for a bout with the former NXT Tag Team Champion after Riddle and his scooter had annoyed the veteran backstage. This ended up backfiring on Randy, who lost to Riddle, who countered an RKO attempt into a crucifix pin.

Strowman, meanwhile, was seemingly inserted into Drew McIntyre's storyline with former RETRIBUTION members Mace and T-Bar, teaming with McIntyre to face the heels after saving Drew in what was originally a handicap match. Mace and T-Bar were awarded a DQ victory after the faces tore their masks off.
