Ranking The 28 Greatest Hell In A Cell Matches In WWE History

12. Batista Vs. Undertaker (Survivor Series 2007)

Taker and Batista had a fantastic series of matches in 2007 that surprised many critics. Batista stepped up his game that year and elevated his position in wrestling history through his title matches with the Deadman. Their Hell in a Cell was the final one-on-one PPV encounter of their saga. Rather than definitively end their storyline, however, the match was used to begin Taker€™s next WrestleMania rivalry (with Edge). Disappointing as that may have been given the desire to see Batista and Taker take each other to the limit one more time, the match was still quite good. It was similar to Taker€™s match with Orton, though, in that expectations were €œMatch of the Year€ candidate and we ended up getting something less. Unlike some of the other €œmiddle of the pack€ choices on this list, Batista vs. Taker drew mixed opinions, often finding itself just inside the top 10 of Hell in a Cell rankings and just as often finding itself much further down than you see here. It has been steadily rated at the 4-star mark, but did not have the novelty or intangibles to overcome the interference-laden climax considering that the Cell has traditionally been used to clearly identify who the better man is.
