The first WWE Summer of Punk unceremoniously ended with the Chicago Made Superstar losing the World Heavyweight Championship that he had so gloriously earned via defeat of Jeff Hardy. Losing to the Deadman in a solidly unspectacular, 10-minute Cell match at the very first PPV using the gimmicks name, Punk began a decline that would fuel his irritation to levels that helped set off the Pipe Bomb in 2011. Back in 2009, Punk was presented as two notches below the Takers talents. We later got to see what they were capable of producing when they were booked as equals. It was worth the wait until Mania 29, but their Cell match was disappointing.
