A silent, unblinking, less-accomplished wrestler had a better main roster debut than both members of DIY. Let that one roll around in your head.

Dexter Lumis had a marginally better 2022 if only because he was a strongly featured superstar during the final four-plus months of the year, stalking Miz every week in a storyline that wouldn’t go anywhere and just wouldn’t end. WWE in its infinite wisdom decided to use Lumis’ real-life firing as party of the story, because the cruelty clearly is the point.

Lumis came out on the short end of his feud thanks to a debuting Bronson Reed, but given how things have gone so far, you’d almost assume this story would continue into 2023. Still, it’s tough to see Dexter being a breakout star.
