Jeff Hardy fought longer and harder at the top of the card for SmackDown's World Heavyweight Title, but his original WWE Championship win was by far the most satisfying.

Sadly, it was terminated in rather short order. After claiming the strap in an evocative Armageddon 2008 triple threat main event, he lost to Edge just a month later following a Matt Hardy heel turn.
