Rated-RKO is the team many fans din't know they wanted until they joined forces in late 2006.

Once it became clear they weren't going to be involved in the main event scene on Raw in the remainder of the year, Randy Orton and Edge forged a friendship and immediately entered the World Tag Team Championship scene. It didn't take them very long at all to secure the straps, with their one-sided win over legends Roddy Piper and Ric Flair making them all the more hated.

Everything from their in-ring styles to their egocentric personalities made them the perfect match and a breath of fresh air in the tag team division. They were fantastic foils for D-Generation X going into 2007, and even after that rivalry had run its course, Orton and Edge continued to fight alongside each other and make life miserable for John Cena, Shawn Michaels and the rest of the Raw roster.

Due to Edge abruptly jumping ship to SmackDown in the spring of 2007, Rated-RKO was never given a proper ending, but it was a ton of fun while it lasted nonetheless and kept Orton busy before he broke back out on his own.
