This is the fight that gave Lesnar his first taste of victory in the UFC. It was Heath Herring's last fight, and he was never a top fighter, but he was legit and had a name. It also taught us that Lesnar could go the distance in an MMA bout - not really surprising if you knew him from pro wrestling, but still good to see from an MMA fan's point of view. It wasn't a spectacular fight, but the unanimous decision win was enough to get him a crack at Randy Couture, for the UFC heavyweight title, and then against Frank Mir, who he had lost to in his UFC debut.
