Ranking Every Ambulance Match In Wrestling History From Worst To Best

5. DDP vs. Mike Awesome (WCW Great American Bash 2000)

It was ludicrous of WCW to build towards DDP vs. Mike Awesome on pay-per-view by giving away four Ambulance Matches on free TV. That would be like WWE hyping up Hell In A Cell by booking a handful of Cell matches on Raw and SmackDown before the big night, then having them last two minutes apiece.

On a more positive note, at least Page vs. Awesome was an actual match that lasted longer than a few minutes, but it did still feature the usual WCW nonsense. Kimberly Page ran in (only to be stopped by Miss. Hancock), and Chris Kanyon turned heel on his best friend to join forces with The New Blood.

Talk about overkill: there was just too much going on here. Things would have been much better had WCW just let DDP and Awesome continue the decent match they were having, instead of nonsensically having Kanyon turn on Page days after Awesome had supposedly crippled him at Slamboree.

Once again, this was typical WCW.
