Ranking Every Halloween Havoc From Worst To Best
Monster trucks, electric chairs, cages aplenty and...Yetis?
WWE have a lot to live up to at NXT: Halloween Havoc on 28 October.
Match quality is one thing, and that's almost automatic when it comes to NXT anyway, but Havoc always had this unique charm about it. Actual wrestling often took a backseat to WCW's lunacy - the sets, the gimmicks and the big names were typically more important than matches. Truthfully, that's why some of the pay-per-views were downright horrible.
The first two Halloween spectaculars were technically produced as NWA events in 1989 and 1990. Then, the WCW name took over and the promotion continued using Havoc as a tent pole occasion on its annual calendar. Eric Bischoff has even said before that the pay-per-view was a bigger deal to him personally than Starrcade, if only because it regularly took place in Las Vegas.
Why was the quality so erratic then? It was WCW for a start, but there was always an attempt to do something meaningful at Havoc that'd get wrestling fans talking. That, as you'll find out during this ranking, typically meant ridiculousness.
Time to revisit some old scares...
