If John Cena never wrestles a match of this standard ever again - or, for that matter, manages to break the fictional record he equalled here - he can hang his hat on this 'Phenomenal' case of worlds colliding that toasted AJ Styles' first year on the main roster.

The two had feuded for much of 2016, but a final fight for the company's richest prize was a match fitting for the near-full Alamodome. There's an over-reliance on the overblown fun of the pinfall kickout in Cena's epics, but 'The Champ' and the former Champion knocked out a minor classic that did away with much of the typical excess.
