EC3's persona was rebuilt in the company after a WWE firing, and he got over within the company to such a degree that he re-signed as an NXT comeback star a few years later.

The pendulum has now swung back the other way in 2020 - Carter has returned to the place he literally made his name following the Black Wednesday WWE cuts.
