Ranking Every UK Title Change In WWE History From Worst To Best

4. Shawn Michaels (European Title - One Night Only, 1997)

20 years on, Shawn Michaels beating The British Bulldog to win the European Title on UK territory remains a bitter pill to swallow for British fans. Even more distressing is the fact Davey Boy Smith dedicated the match to his cancer-stricken sister and promised to win. You could almost hear the entire NEC Arena in Birmingham deflating when Michaels won.

Depressing backdrop or not, the actual wrestling was second-to-none. On a card that still remains one of the best WWE have ever put on in the UK, the One Night Only headliner was an emotional finale that once again proved Bulldog's popularity in Britain.

Don't let the result put you off, because it furthered the idea that Michaels and his D-Generation X cohorts were the WWF's top heels. It even worked as a precursor to the more dramatic Survivor Series '97 bout between Shawn and Bret Hart.
