Ranking Every WWE Money In The Bank Winner’s Run With The Briefcase

18. Mr. Kennedy, 2007

Safe to say that Mr. Kennedy’s Money in the Bank push didn’t go quite according to plan. Having won the briefcase at WrestleMania 22, he’d then lose it to Edge just 36 days later, making him the only man in history who never had the chance to actually cash-in his Money in the Bank privilege.

The reality of the situation was that Kennedy had just suffered a torn triceps injury and so the company were looking for a quick-fix angle to write him out of storylines. That quick-fix arrived in the form of Edge, who goaded Kennedy into an impromptu match on Raw with the briefcase on the line, before jumping his opponent before the match to pick up an easy victory and with it the Money in the Bank contract.

To add insult to the injury, Edge cashed in that very same week, capping off what will go down as a fairly miserable stint for Kennedy as Mr. Money in the Bank.
