Ranking Every WWE To AEW Move From Worst To Best
3. CM Punk
It's still pretty damn astounding to note just how quickly CM Punk rediscovered his Best in the World form after a whopping seven-years away from the squared-circle.
Sure, there was an expected tinge of ring rust present in those earliest of AEW showings for the one-time WWE Champion. But before long, being the supreme, generational worker Punk is and always has been, the Voice of the Voiceless found a way to lace his fans' fears of him taking on too much too soon into the stories he was telling in-between the ropes.
Opting for the Land of All Elite over the company that "got (him) sick in the first place" proved to be the wisest call Punk could've ever made, in all honesty. After not stepping back in a ring since departing WWE in 2014, he's been afforded the space to heal and opportunities to spread his wings creatively time and time again in AEW, even in just his first full year as part of the roster.
And his rise to becoming AEW World Champion felt as logical as it did satisfying before being forced onto the sidelines with a foot injury.
Here's to the get-back.
