Ranking John Cena's WrestleMania Matches - From Worst To Best

6. Vs. Bray Wyatt - WrestleMania XXX

I miss Bray Wyatt being booked in a strong fashion, and many would point to this as being the beginning of the end for the Wyatt character. I would certainly argue that Wyatt should have won this, but we are talking about John Cena at WrestleMania after all, so what did we expect? The in-ring work here isn't particularly mind-blowing, but this plainly wasn't what they were going for anyway. This match was all story, of the demonic Wyatt trying to bring out the monster in John Cena. You'd think Wyatt would have learnt something from Kane's attempt at getting Cena to embrace the hate, but alas no. Bray put in a fantastic effort character-wise, controlling the crowd masterfully and putting a few nice flourishes on his work as a result. The finish was depressingly Cena, a countered finish into an AA into an underwhelming 1-2-3. This is professional wrestling though, and the full stop of a sentence isn't everything. The story told was strong and powerfully done. It's just a shame that Wyatt has been booked so poorly in the two years since.
