22. 1999 - Vince Russo Leaves WWE For WCW

A Crash TV crashed and burned in late-1999, so too did Vince Russo with the advent of SmackDown and a doubled WWE workload.

Taking a substantial sum of money to become the head writer of WCW having claimed the majority of the credit for the Attitude Era, his move seemed seismic in the moment. Within a year, it was primarily blamed for hammering the biggest nails in the Atlanta outfit's nearly-completed coffin.
