Ranking WWE's One-Off Pay-Per-Views From Worst To Best

2. Great Balls Of Fire - 2017

Ludicrous by name, but not so by nature.

Great Balls of Fire delivered two brutal matches between the super heavyweights who carried a revitalised RAW throughout the summer of 2017.

Braun Strowman got over big in his Ambulance match with Roman Reigns, while hardcore fans were treated to a short-but-effective dream contest between Samoa Joe and Brock Lesnar - a rivalry which would be well worth revisiting based on this small sample size.

To compensate for these slugfests, there was also a 30-minute Ironman match for the wrestling purists as Sheamus and Cesaro retained their tag titles over The Hardy Boyz.

The undercard was stacked with Bray Wyatt spooking Seth Rollins, Intercontinental champion The Miz defending against Dean Ambrose, and Alexa Bliss versus Sasha Banks for the RAW Women’s title, which were all decent filler matches.

Great Balls of Fire had great action and storytelling, and surpassed expectations for a 'B-show’ pay-per-view. For that reason, it deserves to be back in 2018.
