Real Reason AEW Is Getting SPOOKY This Halloween
Update on AEW's zombification and embrace of the Living Dead for Halloween 2023.

Abadon returned to AEW television following a long absence last week, zombifying company television by winning a shot at the Women's World Championship on Rampage, then falling to Hikaru Shida on Collision the following night.
It was the first time the 'Living Dead Girl' had been on AEW television since a similar Halloween bout with Dr. Britt Baker DMD in October 2021. In that gap, Abadon had mostly been wrestling on Dark and Dark: Elevation, though those shows have since been cancelled.
Fightful Select reports that injury had sidelined Abadon for a period prior to their comeback. They weren't cleared to return until Wednesday's episode of Dynamite, in fact, meaning the return must have been the product of some quick plan-making.
Before last week, Abadon's last AEW match of any kind came in June. Although they wrestled for REVOLVER on 14 October, they were still awaiting clearance from AEW.
There is currently no word on why, exactly, Abadon was off AEW television altogether for such an extended period of time.
Abadon's defeat to Shida was billed as a Fright Night Fight, befitting of the 'Living Dead Girl' character.
